Topps Unveils Tom Brady’s Unique Baseball Card in 2023 Bowman Draft

Topps, the renowned sports trading card company, is generating considerable buzz with its upcoming release of the 2023 Bowman Draft Baseball collection. In a surprising twist, they have chosen to feature former NFL star Tom Brady in this series. Known for his talent in multiple sports during his high school years, Brady will be depicted in these cards wearing a Montreal Expos jersey. This serves as a tribute to his selection by the Expos in the 18th round of the draft, before he ultimately opted to pursue a career in football at the University of Michigan.

The highlight of this collection is the inclusion of 81 autographed cards of Tom Brady himself. To further enhance the excitement surrounding the release, Topps plans to unveil an amusing video in the near future. Social media teasers have already been offering glimpses of what’s to come, one of which has received considerable attention. The card in question features Brady with an inscription alluding to his alternate sports path, humorously suggesting that if baseball hadn’t worked out, football would have always been an option. Additionally, a French inscription on the card pays homage to his connection with the Montreal Expos.

Without a doubt, the most talked-about card in this series is the autographed card numbered 12/50, which cleverly references Brady’s iconic jersey number. The demand for this card has already reached staggering heights, with reports of a private collector offering an eye-popping $500,000 to acquire it. Adding to the excitement is the existence of a rare 1-1 SuperFractor auto card, which is sure to pique the interest of avid collectors.

What makes Brady’s inclusion in this baseball card collection even more intriguing is the fact that he holds the distinction of being the last draft pick from the Montreal Expos to retire from professional sports. The Expos relocated to Washington, D.C., and were rebranded as the Nationals after the 2004 season. Thus, this series serves as a fitting tribute to Brady’s unique connection to a franchise that no longer exists.

Collectors will have the option to purchase the 2023 Bowman Draft collection in two formats: Hobby and Jumbo. The Hobby format guarantees three autographed cards per box, while the Jumbo format offers an even more generous offering of five autographs. The official release date for the collection is set for Tuesday, December 12. However, some boxes have already surfaced prior to the official release, with Hit Factory Sports Cards in Arizona unveiling a non-signed Brady card. This early exposure has only served to further fuel anticipation among fans and collectors for the autographed cards to come.

Excitement surrounding Brady’s autographed cards is already reaching fever pitch, with eager fans and collectors scouring eBay listings for a chance to own a piece of this unique series. From the distinctive inscriptions to the rare limited-edition cards, the 2023 Bowman Draft Baseball collection featuring Tom Brady is undoubtedly creating a flurry of activity in the world of sports collectibles. As release day approaches, enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to add these special cards to their collections, whether as a tribute to Brady’s connection to the Montreal Expos or simply as a unique and valuable piece of sports memorabilia.
