Memory Lane’s Exclusive Auction Showcases Rare Vintage Card Collection

Memory Lane’s Premier Auction is currently underway, offering collectors and enthusiasts a rare opportunity to acquire some of the most coveted vintage sports cards. Running until February 4th, this exclusive event showcases a meticulously curated collection of 120 cards, each with its own historical significance and desirability.

Taking center stage is the highly coveted 1909 T204 Ramly Walter Johnson rookie card. As one of only two cards in NM/MT condition graded PSA 8, it quickly garnered attention with a six-figure bid. Equally impressive is the T206 Ty Cobb Portrait (Green) card, a rare find with only three PSA 7 graded copies in existence. Another notable Cobb card is the PSA 6 ‘Bat Off Shoulder’ Old Mill back.

The auction also presents a range of pre-war era cards, including a PSA 7 graded T206 Cy Young card and the highest graded PSA 9 T206 Nap Lajoie (Throwing) card. Of particular interest is the 1952 Bowman Mickey Mantle card in PSA 9 grade. With only 13 cards at this level known to exist, and two graded higher, it’s a true gem among collectors.

Mickey Mantle’s legacy extends throughout the auction, with six additional cards from the 1950s. Graded between 8 and 9, these cards include prized versions from the 1953 Topps and Bowman series, showcasing Mantle’s iconic career.

Roberto Clemente’s cards from 1956 to 1973 dominate the auction, with numerous Mint 9 graded cards available. The selection of Clemente cards surpasses those of other players, underscoring his enduring popularity and impact on the game. Willie Mays also features prominently, with standout pieces like the rare 1962 Topps card graded PSA 9, and a 1970 Topps card, one of only two graded PSA 10.

The auction caters to football enthusiasts as well, with high-grade rookie cards of Frank Gifford, Johnny Unitas, and Joe Namath up for grabs. Basketball collectors will be delighted to find rookie cards of legends like Bill Russell (PSA 7), Wilt Chamberlain (PSA 8), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (PSA 8), Larry Bird/Magic Johnson (PSA 9), and Michael Jordan (PSA 8) rounding out the offerings.

Memory Lane’s Premier Auction provides a unique opportunity for collectors and sports fans alike to own a piece of sports history. With the event culminating on February 4th, interested buyers can visit Memory Lane’s website for more details and bid on these prestigious vintage sports cards. Whether you’re a passionate collector or simply appreciate the significance of these iconic athletes, this auction is not to be missed.
