Panini and the WNBA Players’ Association have revealed a new multi-year extension of their exclusive trading card partnership. Since 2019, Panini has been creating WNBA cards in popular series like Donruss, Prizm, and Select, as well as premium lines such as Flawless and National Treasures. This new agreement, arranged by OneTeam Partners, is described by Panini as the most financially rewarding licensing partnership for women athletes. The financial terms have not been disclosed.
Panini will continue as the sole producer of WNBA trading cards and will keep offering digital collectibles, including Panini Instant. The company plans to enhance investments in player marketing, product innovation, autograph deals, and event sponsorships, such as the WNBPA Rookie Premiere.
The WNBA has garnered increased attention due to stars like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Paige Bueckers. The Las Vegas Aces, led by MVP A’ja Wilson, recently secured the league championship.
